Fargepalett i huset / The color palette of our house
The right hand picture here, is what inspired me to want to paint my black chinese cabinet duck egg blue. I think it looks stunning :)
The most important thing for me when I start decorating a home, is setting the color palette and sticking to it. Setting a color palette doesn't mean that EVERYTHING has to be in these colors, but there should be something that ties the rooms together. One or more of these colors should be found in every room. My palette consits of three main colors and one accent color. I've chosen duck egg blue, duck egg green and a golden beige as my main colors, and Chinese red as my accent color.
Color is my passion, and I think it's a lot of fun to use unexpected combinations (although I haven't ended up with one this time). It is also more challenging as a designer to use colors than sticking to a neutral palette (which is very Norwegian). I devour literature about color , and I keep coming back to the natural, old colors that can also be found in nature.

I agree; your blue cabinet is stunning.
Thanks, Christy! :) Iy's not finished yet, but it's I'm getting there! :)
I totally agree with the Norwegian color palette being neutral- it's a bit frustrating flipping through magazines when there is hardly any color there to inspire me. People have told me my house is "unique" and I'm sure it's simply because it has color (unsure if they meant that in a positive way or not!)... I'm just always looking for fresh ideas. I love the fabric in the cabinet doors.
