Hvilken er din favoritt? / Which one is your favorite?

Som dere vet har jeg en del møbler som trenger å trekkes om. Jeg har mer eller mindre gått meg vill i stoffjungelen, og har store problemer med å fjerne noen av stoffene nedenfor. Har mer eller mindre falt for alle! :) Hvilken er din favoritt til de forskjellige møblene? Jeg skal trekke om spisestuestolene, lage sitteputer til bambusstolene og trekke om den sennepsgule stolen. Skal også lage noen puter til å ha i sofaen, også har jeg en chaiselounge som skal trekkes om. Mer enn nok å fylle hverdagen med! ;)

As you know, I have some furniture waiting to be upholstered. There's my six dining chairs, the swedish chair, a chaiselounge (not pictured), seating cushions for the bamboo chairs (two of them will be painted egg duck blue and one chinese red), and maybe some cushions for the couch (which is white).

Disse stoffene er fra Lee Industries. Jeg har fått stoffprøvene og vurdere korallstoffet til bambusstolene. Ingenting er avgjort med det ENORME utvalget fra interiormall.com nedenfor som gjør meg totalt forvirret.

These are from Lee Industries. I already have swatches, and I'm considering the coral one for the bamboo chairs. Nothing has been decided though, with the HUGE selection from interiormall.com (below).

Alle stoffene ovenfor er fra interiormall.com. Neste skritt er å bestille noen stoffprøver, men jeg har store problemer med å bestemme hvilke jeg skal velge. Hvilke liker du best?

Kan man ha for mange stoler? / Can you ever have too many chairs?

Jeg er en lampe- og stoljente. Jeg har samlet på begge deler i flere år og nå har jeg rett og slett flere stoler enn jeg har plass til. I alle fall i vår 50 m2 store stue / spisestue. Ser jeg på et interiør, er det ofte stolen som tiltrekker seg min oppmerksomhet. Er jeg på loppis, finn eller i "vanlige butikker" er det stolene jeg stopper ved.

I'm a lamps and chairs kinda girl... I've been collecting both for several years, and now I have more chairs than what I have room for. At least in our 540 sq feet living room/dining room. When I look at interiors, it's either the chairs, the lighting (or some times the ceiling and the rugs as well) that draw my attention. If I'm bargain hunting at fleamarkets, finn.no or just ordinary shopping, the chairs are what grab my attention.

Here are some of the chairs in my collection...

Two antique bamboo chairs from around 1915. A paint job is in store for these.

I have eight of these dining chairs. They need some serious LOVE, a paint job (the birch is just too yellow for my taste) and to be reupholstered)

I have two of these. One is going in the nursery after it gets a paint job and reupholstering, the other one I have no idea where to put.

This is the third bamboo chair. Also from around 1915, and will get a coat of chinese red paint.

I really LOVE this chair. I wasn't supposed to do anything to this chair. But then La Dolce Vita posted the picture below from the Ocean 3 showhouse, and how amazing doesn't it look with a little more detail work? (like buttons, and trimming) And a different color! Yellow is not for me though, but teal or duck egg blue would have looked amazing.

These blue chairs would have looked great in my home. So cozy, would have loved to sit in one of them and read my favorite magazine...

The colors here are just divine! I want it all! Three amazing chairs in one room! And I'm still gushing about the colors...

Hvorfor faller jeg alltid for stoler som trenger litt TLC? Det er ikke akkurat slik at jeg har haugevis med tid til overs?? Å sette opp to-do-listen min her hjelper meg til å fokusere på målene mine og jobbe målrettet. Men jeg ser at tidsfristene mine blir flyttet fremover. Familien kommer først :)

So WHY do I always fall for chairs that need some love? It's not like I have too much time between my hands? Having my to-do list on this blog definitly helps me focusing on my goals and working towards them. However I see myself pushing the deadlines. Family first, right?

Første natt borte fra babyen på Son Spa / First night away from the baby at Son Spa

Kjæresten min tok meg med til Son Spa på bursdagen min. Vi var på åpningen av hotellet før jul, og har hatt lyst til å dra dit siden. :) Dette var første natt borte fra datteren vår (som nå er 10 (!) måneder. Hotellet har et avslappende og skandinavisk interiør med noe New England / Slettvoll ispedd.

Mr B took me to Son Spa for my 29th birthday. This is the first night we've spent away from our ten month (!) old daughter. We were at the opening party of this hotel before Christmas (regrettably, I didn't bring my camera that time, so I made sure to take lots of pics this time) We've been planning to come back, the opening party was a success.

Her er resepsjonen. Enkelt design med et digitalt akvarum hvor fiskene svømmer fra TV-skjerm til TV-skjerm. Fiffig.

Dette er rommet vårt. Rommene har to forskjellige design, spa eller maritimt. Vi bodde på et sparom. Jeg synes lampene på nattbordene er fine og fargepalettet er fint og avslappende. På bildet til høyre var de

Our room. The rooms have two different designs, spa or marine. We have a spa room. I like the lamps on the night stands and the color palette is nice and soothing. On the right hand side there's a reading nook maybe? Or just somewhere to relax. It's kinda cute, but the artwork could be better.

Badet er enkelt med et nøytralt fargepalett. Kranene og dusjhodet var billige, hadde forventet bedre på et spahotell.

The bathroom is simple with a neutral color palette. The fixtures / taps were cheap and I expected more from a Spa Hotel.

Jeg liker sømmen på gardinene. "Klokken" på bildet til høyre er faktisk romnøkkelen som er vantett og kan brukes i bassenget. Perfekt for et spahotell!

I liked how the curtains were pleated. The "watch" on the right is actually the room key which was kinda cool AND waterproof. Perfect for a Spa hotel.

Utsikten fra rommet var nydelig. Kanskje enda nydeligere når det er fullt av båter om sommeren :)

The view from the room is beautiful.

Dette er spa-resepsjonen. Digger det. Gyngestolene er fantastiske, dagsengen i bakgrunnen og belysningen. Bak til høyre finner du et kjøkken for kurs du kan ta mens du bor på hotellet :)

The reception area for the Spa. Love it. The rocking chairs were fantastic, the daybed in the background and the lighting. Behind the reception is a kitchen were you can take cooking classes while staying at the hotel.

Resepsjonsområdene / loungen byr på det beste interiøret på hotellet. Avslappet, chic og et nøytralt fargepalett med litt oppfriskende innslag av rødt.

The reception areas and the lounge has the best decor in the Hotel. Relaxed, chic and with a neutral color palette with refreshing dashes of red.

Dette lille området er også flott. De kinesiske hagestolene og de lakkerte trekubbene gir et spennende uttrykk.

This little area is also very nice. The chinese stools and the lacquered wood stools look really great.

Jeg ELSKER lampen med tre føtter. Det er to stykker, og de er virkelig en fantastisk del av interiøret.

I LOVE the lamp in these pictures. There's two of them at the hotel, and they're such an amazing part of the interior.

Jeg hadde ikke lyst til å ta med meg kameraet til spa avdelingen, så disse bildene kommer fra Son Spa sine hjemmesider. Det grønne rommet er helt fantastisk, mens "isbøtta" til høyre var mildt sagt forfriskende (eller forskrekkende?) Mr B utfordret meg til å prøve, så da hadde jeg ikke noe valg, hehe ;)

I didn't want to bring my camera to the spa area so these pictures are from the hotel site. The green room on the bottom left is just beautiful and the "bucket of ice" that you see on the right hand side was refreshing (to put it mildly). Mr B challenged me to try it, so how could I not do it?

Alt i alt kan jeg si at vi hadde en veldig fin overnatting. Spa-avdelingen er nok det som imponerte mest. Restauranten var både og. Vi bestilte lammefrikkase til hovedrett og der var alt perfekt, bortsett fra sausen som smakte buljong. De andre rettene og frokosten dagen etter var heldigvis nydelige. Frokostbuffeten hadde en økologisk profil, som jeg synes er positivt. Skal ikke se bort ifra at vi kommer tilbake hit ;) Og vår lille snuppelure oppførte seg eksemplarisk med farmor og farfar som var barnevakt.

All in all we had a great experience. The spa department impressed the most (thank god). The restaurant had a poorly made sauce for the main course, but the rest of what we ate was excellent. The breakfast buffet had an ecological profile, which is great. We will probably return to this spa hotel :) Our little sunshine behaved like a star with her grandparents as well, so things couldn't have gone any better :)

Gratulerer med dagen til meg! / Happy belated birthday to ME!

I går ble jeg 29 år gammel! Jeg har hatt en fantastisk helg, og det er tre av gavene mine jeg har lyst til å fortelle om. :)

Yesterday I turned 29! I'va had an amazing weekend, and there's three of my gifts I'd like to tell you about.

1. Mr B tok meg med på Son Spa! (mer om dette kommer i eget innlegg i morgen, med vurdering av interiøret på hotellet og bilder)

2. Denne bunken med bøker fikk jeg av min mor og hennes mann! Fikk også en bok om mønstre fra islam som jeg gleder meg til å få (den var bestillingsvare, og litt forsinket)

This stack of books given to me by my mother and her husbond. I also got a book about islamic patterns that I'm really excited about, it was delayed (being shipped from the US)

3. Sist, men ikke minst... Jeg har fått kamerastativ! Wohoo! Et skritt i riktig retning mot å bli proffotograf (hehe)

Last but not least... I got a tripod from my father and grandparents! Wohoo! Finally! Hopefully this will improve my skills as a photographer (lol)

Kjøkkenplaner! / Kitchen plans!

Nytt kjøkken ligger langt frem i tid, men det er aldri for tidlig å starte planleggingen :)

Planene mine er på dette stadiet som følger:
Kjøkkenbase fra IKEA, med egenproduserte dører. Dørene vil ligne de du ser på bildet nedenfor til venstre, men med en annen "grill". Vil bruke mønsteret Herringbone, Filigree, Moroccon eller Tunis i stedet. Grillen på skapdørene er laget av det samme materialet som man har på radiatorskjulere - MDF. A new kitchen is not anywhere in near future, but I'm planning it anyways. :) You can't start too early, can you?

So what I know on this stage, is that I'll get the Factum base from IKEA. The cabinet doors will be custom made, and will look like the ones you see on the picture below but with a different "grill" and definitly different knobs. I have not decided on the pattern yet, but I'm swaying between Herringbone, Filigree, Moroccon and Tunis. The grill on the cabinet doors are made of the same material as you use on radiator covers, MDF. To see the whole selection of patterns available, click here.

Jeg er en sucker for tak som ikke er hvite og vil selvfølgelig benytte enhver mulighet til å unngå det. Jeg har sett på denne tapeten fra Cole & Son og vet at effekten den vil gi rommet er uvurderlig (ja, den koster så mye at man skulle tro den var dyppet i gull).

I'm a sucker for non white ceilings and will use every opportunity to avoid it. This wallpaper from Cole & Son is just amazing, and I just know that it'll give the room that extra oomph (with that insane price tag, it better!)

The flooring is Walnut parquet.

I haven't decided on counter tops yet, but I have plenty of time to decide.. (Like years! Lol...)

I want classical subway tiles between the counter tops and the cabinets, like this:

Enda en Murano-lampe! / Another Murano lamp?

Klarte ikke å stoppe etter én.... Her er nr 2 som skal henge i gangen oppe... :)

I couldn't stop at one. I suprisingly found another Murano from the same collection.. This is for the landing/hall upstairs.

Hjemme hos Nettan! / The Nettan way!

I'd like to show some Scandinavian interiors. I'd like to start with my blog friend Nettan's home. Nettan lives in in a house from the early 1900s and is in the process of a total renovation, both of the interior and the exterior. Her style is Country Cottage combined with a little New England and a dash of Shabby Chic. All with a clear Scandinavian interpretation.

Her home is light and airy with lots of white, oak and a little drift wood here and there. It's all about the details and good storage solutions.

Even though our styles are so different I get lots of inspiration and tips from Nettan. She is amazing at table settings and I really love so many of her storage solutions.

Let's start with the exterior. I just love the front gate. This picture is from Christmas and I think it's beautiful :) The wreaths give a perfect finish.

Nettan's kitchen is warm and inviting. The bread box on the right hand picture is so cute!

I think this little stool is from IKEA. It's a great find and actually of great quality. Love the radiator cover. You'll find several of these throughout the house and they're beautifully made. The walls are wood panel and goes great with the look of the kitchen.

The Kitchen Aid is to die for! A must have in the kitchen if you enjoy baking.

These steel bar stools adds a little industrial chic to the room. Nettan added some faux lambswool to prevent cold bums.. Love it!

Nettan's dining room is just so inviting. I would love to be one of the guests! She is great at table settings, and regularly posts pictures from her preparation to dinner parties.

Norm69 is a pleasant surprise in the living room. Like the rest of the house it has a neutral color palette.

Love how she added extra interest to the Christmas tree with lambswool and faux snowballs. The room looks crisp and beautiful. The oak pieces have a great impact on the room.

This is Nettan's main bathroom. The color palette is black and white with splashes of steel.

The rainforest shower head from Damixa is beautiful and LOVE how the toilet paper is stored!

I really love this cabinet and am looking for something similar for our bathroom. On the right hand picture you can see the new shutters!

The bedroom is stunning. Here you see it styled for Christmas on the left. I absolutely love the lamps on the nightstands. The right hand picture looks like a Lexington ad! :)
