Look at Suri's footwear. I'm shocked and apalled.

Se på fottøyet til lillemor! Utrolig upassende.

Flowers on a Sunday / Blomster på en søndag

I know, the credenza is still not striped... I haven't even sanded down the door that won't shut. But I did get some beautiful flowers for the weekend. Hope you've had lots of fun!!

Objects of Desire: Fabulous End Table / Fantastisk sidebord!

Lectus Pile of Books by Joesfin Hellström Olsson is just such a statement piece in my opinion. You can use it as a sideboard by your bed, next to your sofa or wherever you'd like. :) My only concern is where to put the lamp? I'm obsessed by lamps as you know. There may be enough space for a narrow footed one, and a quirky little vase. I love all the "secret" storage compartments!

Measurements: hight 25.5 inches - width 17.72 inches.

The table is being carried by pid.se, and they ship worldwide.

Elsker all de "hemmelige" lagringsmulighetene!

My home: My duck egg blue front door (a little preview) / En liten sniktitt på min blå dør!

Here's a little sneak preview of our front door - it's now duck egg blue! And I LOVE it! We're waiting for all the hardware, which will be in chrome... If you haven't guessed my inspiration yet (which should be pretty obvious), there's a photo of it below. :)

It's of course Miles Redd's fabulous entrance door! I did a post on this door back in march. Click here to read it.

Klikk her for å lese det.

DIY credenza update! / Sjenkoppdatering!

This twin credenza project has been taking forever to complete. It's been in the state you see in the image below since late May, but last week I finally got around to doing some more work on it. For some reason I forgot to take a before-picture - hopeless! I'm blaming the pregnancy on that one...

This baby has now been painted white. It's been primed and has to coats of pure white (05000) non toxic paint. The left door is impossible to shut at the moment, so I have to sand it down to be able to close it properly. It's a quick fix.

Below you can see the after pic of the "twin sister". This is also showing what I have left to do on credenza no 2 - taping the stripes and painting them. It's an extremely time consuming job, and I'm not looking forward to it. So no 2 will probably stay white for a while, until I've worked up the motivation to start taping her.

Affordable and Unique art for your home! / Billig og unike bilder!

If you're looking for cheap, affordable and unique art for your walls, I KNOW I found the right place for you. Last week I was out bargain hunting for antique / vintage furniture and possibly something for our walls. I was browsing at some vintage posters outside this store, Bærre Lækkert that looked like an old book store, quite boring actually.
The owner started talking to me, and really wanted to show me his store. I was like, I don't think so, I don't have the time, and it doesn't look like you have what I'm after. He was like, I KNOW YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED. I was like, oh well, I might as well use five minutes.
I ended up staying for an hour. This is one of the most amazing stores I've ever been in. Do they sell books? Yeah, some, but what it really is is a collection of 400 000 postcards. Some of them are ancient, some are from the 1980s. Many are horrid, many are amazingly fantastic. You might be asking, postcards? What do I need a postcard for? Well, the thing is, they transfer the image from the postcard to a poster.
You can choose yourself if you want it on a canvas or on photo paper. The quality is exquisite. The price for an A3 canvas? $38! If you want to buy the postcard as well, that can be arranged for an agreed upon price. Shipping in Norway is free. If you're from outside Norway, there will be an extra fee. Below you can see some of the postcards I found intriguing or interesting in some way. If you're interested in any of those images, let me know, and I'll put you in touch with the owner (which you can also contact directly at post@berrelekkert.no). If you mention my name (Dagny), you'll get an extra 10% off. I know, not a lot, but this is already dirt cheap :)

This postcard is hilarious - back in the days they had all kinds of stories about where babies come from.

They have a large selection of postcards of silhouettes.

More baby-fishing and "storking". There's also a large selection of different "where are babies from" cards.

A lapp

Another enlarged postcard. This on is MINE! :) It's a painting of a model of an ancient river boat that used to go on the Nile.

Again, if you're interested in any of these, contact me or Bærre Lækkert (post@berrelekkert.no) directly. They can make the canvas or photo paper any size you want, up to A3 (for now).

Fabulous Fabrics from Svenskt Tenn! / Fantastiske mønstre fra Svenskt Tenn!

Last week I got this great tip from an old high school friend, Benedicte (Dikken) to check out the fabrics and patterns by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn. And was she right or what? The patterns are definitely bold, but I really love the intricate patterns and they definitely bring an extra oomph to the decor. Svenskt Tenn was founded in 1924 by Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson and have definitely had a strong influence on Scandinavian and particularily Swedish design. Below you can get a closer look on the amazing patterns and furniture Frank made for the company.

This awesome chest was made by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn. It was auctioned out by Christie's, and was expected to go for between $ 15,000-20,000. Ended up going for a crazy $ 51,613.

"Teheran"

Fun fact: In "Mamma Mia", Meryl Streep is throwing herself at this fabric in white. The director is a huge fan of Josef Frank and wanted to somehow implement his fabrics in the movie.

Lucky Benedicte (the old high school friend) actually has some fabulous cushions covered with the "Teheran" fabric!
