Scandinavian Interiors: Fun and quirky posters by Norwegian artist Snøstorm!

I just love these fun posters by Norwegian artist Snøstorm! Wouldn't your kid love to learn how to multiply with Herman the dog?

Or to count with little Alva?

Eller å telle med lille Alva?

What about the alphabet with Superpus? (Super Kitty)

Hva med alfabetet med Superpus?

She also makes invites, bookmarks and lots of other cute stuff.
Click here to visit her online store or her blog.

Klikk her for å besøke nettbutikken eller bloggen hennes.

Everything can be PERSONALIZED which is completely amazing! Here you see the Bjørnsen siblings and others practicing the alphabet.

Prices are pretty good, from about USD 2-15. (shipping not included)

The webshop is currently in Norwegian, but Snøstorm can take orders sent directly to: post@snostorm.no

(eks frakt)

Du kan besøke nettbutikken hennes her, eller bestille direkte til post@snostorm.no. :)

She also does the famous "Keep Calm and Carry on" poster in six different colorways.

Hun lager også den berømte "Keep Calm and Carry on"-plakaten i seks forskjellige farger.

UPDATE: Look at this fabulous Halloween edition of the Alphabet! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! :D

An award! And 7 random things about me :)

The lovely NY based interior designer Victoria from the fabulous blog Art House Design has given me the Kreativ Blogger award! Thank you so much, I definitely feel honored! She mentioned the K in creative being so familiar because of her German mother tongue. Well, creative is spelled kreativ in Norwegian as well!

As part of the award I get to share seven things about myself :)

1. I can drive a tractor and plow a field. I learned it when I lived in Murtaugh, Idaho at the tender age of 18. I was a foreign exchange student in the smallest town ever (pop: 432) and had a blast!

2. For some reason, people are always totally surprised when they find out that my favorite kind of music is hip hop / rap. I love Jay Z, vintage Pharcyde tracks (like drop, running, passin me by), Wu Tang Clan... The list is long!

3. This is my style.. I'm one of those girls that are always slightly overdressed. LOVE high heels and fun, quirky color combos.

4. I have the most beautiful fiance and a daughter that's 1,5 years old. In 3-5 weeks we're welcoming a new little girl to the family.

5. My biggest passion (except for my family) is interior design. I devour books, blogs and magazines on the subject. And there's always projects going on at home :)

6. I LOVE exciting color combinations....

But always end up with something like this: (which is beautiful, but not what I'm aiming for)

I'm working on it though... More exciting color combos to come in the future!

7. My favorite accessory...? A fabulous lamp!

Before and after: IKEA hack!

My initial inspiration was this fabric:
More about that here... (who it's by and where to get it)

The materials / Materialene:
I just found this fabulous store that sells spray cans to grafitti artists. They have a ridiculous selection of color, and the staff is really fabulous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Oslo Kunstmateriell if you're planning on spraying ANYTHING. The cans are NOK 40 (USD 6.50) a piece, which is nothing. It really does cover very well, and you only need one coat. And since it is grafitti paint, you know it isn't going anywhere - no more chipped paint! :D

Grosgrain ribbon from Panduro

The za za zing fabric.. LOVE it!!!

I glued this stuff on to the seat of the chair, to make it more comfortable to sit on.

Voila! Like it? Indie (my 1,5 year old) absolutely loves it. If you're interested in seing what the table is going to look like, make sure you follow my blog.

I am participating at the Metamorphosis Monday over at Between Naps on the Porch today. Head on over if you want to see more before and afters!

Ever Forget About the Fifth Wall...? / Den femte veggen

The ceiling is in my opinion the most overlooked part of a decor. I've gathered some examples of why it's so important not to ignore your fifth wall.

What's your take on the ceiling? Do you leave it white, or is color a must for you as well?
