From the Blog Roll: My Wonderworld

Welcome to our series, “From the Blog Roll” We’re introducing you to the homes of the fabulous guys and gals behind the über chic blogs on our blog roll.

My Wonderworld is one of Dagny’s long time favorite blogs. Carina just returned to blogging from a long maternity pause, and we’re super excited to be showing her current home with you!

Who: I live in Oslo, Norway, and love to inspire and be inspired by my surroundings (AND to make my surroundings beautiful ;))

What: Author of two blogs, My Wonderworld and My Wonderworld Fairytales

Blogs about: Interiors and exteriors. Until recently, I have published inspirational pics for upcoming or ongoing projects. Now, I’m hoping to use all these inspirational posts when I decorate and plan the remodeling of our new home (we just bought a house!) I will share the whole process on the blog, so if you like what you see, make sure you follow it.

Carina is watching my Stella while I try to get some chic pics of her pad. I’m dying over all the eye candy…

SC: Describe your style in four words!

MWW: Simple, harmonious, rough and rustic

The kitchen nook is beautiful, the chinoiserie inspired wallpaper (Narco Flowers by Elitis) is structured and you just want to touch it. The modern Danish chairs are the perfect contrast to the Moroccan bench and the lotus chandelier.

SC: What’s your favorite store?

MWW: I don’t really have ONE favorite, but I’m always inspired when I visit Purpur in Grunerløkka, Oslo, Norway.

The family room is stunning – the tuftet velvet sofa was actually a bargain (!) from Ka International, the mid century chairs and the eclectic chandelier are the finishing touches that bring this room to perfection. Carina never got time to get art for the wall over the sofa before they bought their new home

SC: What item in your house do you treasure the most?

MWW: It must be my old french industrial cabinet. It really makes my life neat and organized.

The vintage industrial cabinet was imported from France by Purpur, which is now selling reproductions of the original in Carina’s home

SC: How do you incorporate Scandinavian design in your home and wardrobe?

MWW: Well, I love the light Scandinavian simplicity, which really is the foundation of both my home and wardrobe.

Carina has the perfect mix of styles in her living room. A gold splattered cow hide, a Moroccan table, HOME MADE day beds (these are incredibly chic), and you can’t go wrong with a sunburst.

SC: What’s your latest purchase?

MWW: Our new house?

The bedroom is as chic as the other rooms, a combination of vintage, modern and eclectic pieces. Carina’s favorite artist, Nicoletta Ceccoli’s works can be seen throughout the apartment.

SC: What’s your favorite Scandinavian Design Classic?

MWW: Hans Wegner’s Y Chair

A little vignette from the bedroom – perfectly styled, of course. The details tie everything beautifully together.

SC: Favorite Scandinavian Magazines?

MWW: Elle Interiør and Rom123

Lykke is the luckiest little girl I know. Her room is fabulous, and the color scheme with bright yellows combined with soft blues and greens is very successful. The bench is custom made for the room.

SC: Best décor / style / beauty advise?

MWW: Let your home mirror your personality by mixing different styles (usually people evolve and are more complex than one style can describe). Use humor and challenge yourself, but don’t let too many things fight for attention.
