From the Blogroll: Polkadot

From the Blogroll is finally back from a little hiatus. In this series we’re introducing you to the homes of the fabulous guys and gals behind the über chic blogs on our blog roll. (left)

Polkadot is a pretty new favorite of mine. It’s fresh, colorful and full of an industry insider’s work and thoughts. For all of you that DON’T read Norwegian, I recommend you to use translate.google.com. (definitely worth the extra effort!)

SC: Describe your style in four words!

CH: Colorful, playful, recycling/upcycling and quality

SC: What’s your favorite store?

CH: Right now it’s Dover Street Market in London – and Few and Far!
(AND Merci and Rossana Orlandi – but I haven’t been there yet… ;))

SC: What item in your house do you treasure the most?
CH: Hmm.. Maybe our white teapot.. Or the coffee machine!

SC: How do you incorporate Scandinavian design in your home and/or wardrobe?
CH: We’ve inherited and bought quite a lot of Danish design. Other than that we have the Tripp Trapp, silver, porcelain, bed linens and tumblers from Norway. I don’t buy Scandinavian because it’s Scandinavian, but because I appreciate the shapes, forms and quality.

<I’m LOVING how this bookshelf is styled, and it makes me wonder if I have that many red books?? The disco balls and colorful chairs makes this nook something I want sink into and start plowing through all the chic books>

SC: What’s your latest purchase?
CH: A beautiful basket from Africa – bought at Isandi.

SC: What’s your favorite Scandinavian Design Classic?
CH: Børge Mogensen’s Spanish Chair!!! I really really really want it! It has to be in a natural leather and untreated oak.

SC: Favorite Scandinavian Magazines?
CH: Hehe…

SC: Best décor / style / beauty advise?
CH:
Remember that high quality pieces can be bought second hand
Green plants – lots of them!!
Cats – makes everything and everyone beautiful :)
