My New Business Cards!

I got my business cards from the printer on Friday, and I’m very happy with the look! They’re two sided, so Scandinavian Chic on the front and Design Refuge on the back (or vise versa).

What do you think?

On a side note, I really wanted to thank you for the beyond amazing comments you left on the post about our wedding. And I totally agree, my hubby is super hot!! I will answer all of the comments later today. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. (it's no secret that I LOVE comments :))

Livingroom Redesign – the Walls

Howard has left the building and Domino has entered. I love Domino, he’s pale blue, clean lined, masculine and very loungy. Thing is – since Domino is so symmetric, he totally doesn’t agree with my current gallery wall. So it has to go.

I’m working on the new one, and it’s going to have an eclectic vibe with a collection of black frames in different shapes and sizes. Below are my main inspirations for the wall:

Creating a wall like this may seem like a small task, but to me it's a huge challenge to make anything not symmetric. My other challenge is to find out what to frame…. :)

My Wedding – part 1

Good morning! Hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend! As most of you know, I got married in Spain two weeks ago. I had to wait to show you the pics until after our wedding party in Oslo this weekend (since I was wearing my dress for the last time (sob)).

Anyways, I haven’t gotten the official pics from the photographer yet (will have to wait four more weeks), but being my inpatient self I had to show you my favorite “unprofessional” pictures (Trine, you’re a FABULOUS photographer!!)

I usually don’t share pics of myself here, but this was such a special day, and I wanted to share it with our lovely readers :)

Remember how I needed your help to pick out a dress for the first night (the pre party at Shoko). Check out which one I ended up getting below:

Part two will probably be in a week or so when I get the pics from the wedding party we had this weekend, and part three with the official wedding pictures will be in four weeks time.

Life is Beautiful

I took this photo yesterday after visiting the Norwegian Gift Fair, and I think the words of wisdom are so true.

I’m really enjoying life these days with my little family. I love being called a wife and calling my boyfriend husband. I love that we’re celebrating our marriage AGAIN tomorrow with all of our friends and family. (pictures from the ceremony are coming on Monday!)

I’m so excited about the direction Scandinavian Chic has taken and I’m even more excited about you guys liking it too! We’ve gotten so much blog love lately and yesterday, one of my favorite girls, Leah, from The Way We Are did a post on Rikke’s and my home! Check it out here. Thank you, L!!

Design Refuge has been embraced by so many of you – even before the launch! Thanks again Jessica (FPS / The Love List) for your great work and letting me overload your inbox with a ridiculous amount of e-mails every day :)

The Norwegian Gift Fair was a blast yesterday, I uploaded all my pics to our facebook group – with comments of course. Wish I would have taken more pics, but I only had a day and it was soooo not enough!

And I have a little secret. But I can’t share it with you yet. But will do in a week or two!

Bruuns Bazaar: The Fall Collection, The HQ and the Pool House

Bruuns Bazaar has been one of Denmark’s biggest fashion exports since it’s birth in 1994. The clothes can be described as classical with a twist and with great quality in both fabrics and cut.

Today we’re going to visit their HQ (Head Quarter) in Copenhagen, their fall collection and founder Bjørn’s pool house in Ibiza.

Their HQ is located in a historic building in Cph – stunning architecture!

The interiors are quite different – very modern and fresh, with a few carefully chosen design classics.

The artwork is fresh, and a mix of abstract and contemporary. I have to admit, I’m lusting after the one to the right in the pic above!

The lunch area – the tilework in the little kitchen “hub” is perfect!

Work, work, work… The glass walls make the HQ seem like one huge open spaced area.

You have to love how the classical and original features of the building have been kept and incorporated into the modern & minimalistic decor. Definitely makes the columns pop!

My favorites from the fall collection:

These pants are genius! Definitely a must have for MY fall wardrobe.

The oversized top part of the coat is very “now” and gives you tons of options on how to wear it. I think this is a must have too!

Simple and classic – this will be as chic in 10 years time as it is today

This charcoal chiffon (I belive) dress can very easily be dressed up or down

Again, we see some killer pants, this time, with a more masculine styling

Our final stop is Bjørn’s summer retreat in Ibiza. Would you belive he’s originally an architect?

The Danish fashion designer Bjorn Bruun decamps each summer with his wife, son and daughter to their holiday home in Ibiza. "Ibizan houses need to be social spaces," Bruun says. "We do a lot of barbecues, and we have a great outdoor sound system." The 12-metre pool was the main selling point when he bought the house three years ago, but the island has stringent ecological laws. "I wanted to heat it, but there is a limit on how much electricity you can use. There are also constant water shortages, so cacti feature heavily in the garden, as they’re the only things that grow here."

The house, in the quiet northern part of the island, provides an ideal retreat from Bruun’s hectic life in Copenhagen. His fashion label, Bruun’s Bazaar, is renowned for its urban-chic-with-a-twist aesthetic. Helena Christensen is among its fans. "Everything has a different pace in Ibiza," he says. "It’s just not a city way of life. The sun makes you very inactive."

The coffee table is made from 100-year-old teak. "I love beautiful wood and stone, and I wanted something with character," Bruun says. The sofa is from Minotti (minotti.com).

The rocking chairs are original Verner Panton Relaxers, bequeathed to Bruun in Panton’s will. "He was an old family friend." Tracking one down now is very hard, but you might get lucky on eBay. These were reupholstered by hothouse-design.co.uk.

This rocking chair, the Relaxer by Verner Panteon was testamented to Bruun’s family by Panteon himself (he was an old family friend). Btw - isn't he kinda hot??
