Chic&Scandinavian Sponsor: Maison Mat & Vin Magazine

I’m very proud to present one of our newest sponsors, Maison Mat & Vin. As you know, I love all things sweet, and if you’re anything like me, you’re going to love this magazine!

Mango muffin with green tea! I die… Sounds delish!!

Creme Bruleé of Chocolate with pomegranate.. Yummy!

Side note: Don’t you love how this spread matches my credenza??

Saturday Brownies… Am I spying marshmallows?? And caramels?  Holy Hannah…

Carrot Cake. Look at that glazing!!

I promised you earlier today on Twitter that my newest sponsor was going to make your mouths water. Did I succeed??

I definitely recommend that you check out their website here, and if you’re interested in subscribing, click here.

Chic or Shit Thursday: My Pink Credenza

Putting my head on the chopping block today, and am showing you an unstyled, unfinished pink credenza (I haven’t even finished the feet, it’s too boring, and now my paint brush is drying out!)
please ignore the dead flowers in the brass vase…

So what do you think?? Chic or Shit??

Am also looking for a white drum shade for my green china man in the corner, so if you have any ideas, PLEASE let me know!!

At Home With Naja Munthe

We did a post a while back about Naja Munthe’s home collection, and today I’m going to give you a little taste of what her home looks like!

The styling in the kitchen is exquisite, with a gallery wall with black/white paintings and photographs + a chic collection of statues on the counter top. Definitely not an ordinary kitchen!

Naja is wisely enough pairing up the table cloth from her collection with the fabulous Y chairs by Wegner and TWO capiz shell lamps! (I spy a little gold and green chinoiserie on the wall to the back right. Want to see more!)

Again, we see a lot of fabrics from her collection, this time in her bedroom. Who knew framing a photo of your kid could look so cool?? (and you can of course never go wrong with a little bamboo in my book ;))

Want to see more? Visit our friends at the Danish design blog Bungalow5 for more pics! PS – Bungalow5 are also sharing their 10 design favorites over at the Danish interior design magazine Rum’s homepage! (how cool is that??)

The Wedding – part II

Ok, I have to start with a statement today. This is the most personal post I think I’ve ever done and ever will do. As you know, this blog is not about me or my family, it’s about interior design (and a little bit about fashion). These pictures are from our wedding party, two weeks after our Barcelona wedding. It was one of the best days in my life. A relaxed setting, LOTS of humor and LOTS of fun. :)

The photographer we originally hired for the wedding party decided to BAIL on us, giving us a day to find a new photographer. Which we didn’t. So this pictures are my one of my BFF’s, Trine :)

Most important thing first. The food:

The party was an informal event, and we opted for a buffet with a Spanish / Chinese fusion tapas theme. We wanted a lighter atmosphere since we had already gotten married in Barcelona.

2010_08_28_0190 2010_08_28_0193

We were having a blast during the whole party (and have you seen a guy look hotter in a tux?? Yummy!!)

The most interesting gift (we never found out what it actually was):
(seriously AWESOME maid of honor to the right!)

This picture isn’t really focused, but it shows the mood. We had FUN!

350 mini cupcakes (from Olea)! They were seriously delish! And lasted ‘till about 3 am :)

Yup, the girls loved the cupcakes! (Trine, the photographer is in the middle. My cousin Ida to the left, and Matilde to the right)

I know, I know.. The silliest picture EVER, but we had a blast taking it! (there’s a whole series with about 15 pictures of more goofiness)

Dancing with the coolest guy at the party, my 13 yr old brother. (I have three, and he’s the youngest)

Norwegian artist Heine Totland serenaded us,

…and I finally got my husband out on the dance floor.. For about 20 seconds.

The shoes.

The end.

Very happy and very tired. (yes, I had to put on the striped dress! best dress ever! (next to the wedding dress of course))

Wedding+Party = FUN

More pics from the wedding PARTY are coming in a few hours :)

We had a cupcake tower with mini’s from Olea’s Cupcakes at the party and it was a HIT!

Old Craftsmanship… And a Little Bit More Peacock!

Inspired by the beautiful colors in Carina’s peacock post, this dress I threw over our banister a few days ago just popped in the early sunshine this morning.

Doesn’t it look beautiful with the aqua imperial trellis wallpaper in the background?

The dress is a vintage bargain from ebay, and I’ve only worn it once. Don’t you love the detailing on the bottom? This was a very popular look back in the 50s, but the process is so complicated that you rarely see it in modern design. A shame in my opinion.

Have you had any peacock moments today?

PS – I’m featured over at La Dolce Vita today, where I’m sharing “10 Things I Can’t Live Without”! Check out the post here.

Building My Dream Home (#4) Bedroom Inspiration

The beauty of symbolism:

- A perfect source of inspiration. The graceful and harmonious attitude, the overwhelming beauty of colors, and the fascinating symbolism. Peacock must be the perfect theme for my master bedroom ;-)

The "peacock theme" can be presented through the colors, structure, or patterns.

It can cover every wall or dress up smaller pieces.

Images via Furniture & Design Ideas (pillow), Everyday Minerals (bedding), and Norwegian moods (chair)

It can even make your furniture totally peacockish:

Which animal inspires YOU?

EVERY Tuesday you can follow "Building My Dream Home". Don`t miss out! Next Tuesday I will reveal a new and exiting subject ;-)

The Opening Party @ the Filippa K Flagship Store in Oslo

2010_09_22_0001 2010_09_22_0002
Me on the left, my partner in crime, Ida, on the right

Even though I’m a happy momma of two adorable little girls and have an amazing hubby at home, we all need a night on the town with the girls, right? When Filippa K invited me to the opening of their new flagship store I jumped at the opportunity to report from the event and take pictures of the chic decor for you guys. (and at the same time put on some sky high heels and a sequin dress)

Ok… Please don’t laugh..

The concept behind the decor is brand new and might be rolled out in several stores. The naked concrete walls really make the artwork and the clothes pop.

Macaroons… Looks yummy! I’ve loved macaroons my whole life (without ever tasting one), but I was actually kinda disappointed. Ate about 8 though. I mean, you can’t NOT eat macaroons when they look that chic??

Female DJs are a hot trend in Norway. Am totally loving the art in the background.

2010_09_22_0016 2010_09_22_0020

Filippa K was PACKED. It was seriously IMPOSSIBLE to get a descent shot of anything. Not even the walls! And I’m SO not the next fashion/style blogger, I only get sucky profiles, lol! The guests were incredibly chic though.

We met the super sweet Julie from Ifra Lahell and NIB and she’s as cute as she looks with a bubbly and positive personality.

2010_09_22_0033  2010_09_22_0039

The macaroons went down quickly, much because of Ida and I downing half a dozen each. (in about 10 minutes)

The clothes are incredibly chic. Traditional with a twist. The blonde wood in the background is cedar I belive. Such a special touch that makes the concrete walls stand out.

The gift bag was good. We got a beautiful little leather wallet.
