Happy Halloween: WOW by Fam Irvoll

This post is a huge shout out to my two nieces, we had a lot of fun this Thursday, at the launch of Fam Irvoll’s collection for WOW.

The very cute little models from Fam’s kid’s line showed at Oslo Fashion Week in August. These girls were some serious posers!

My nieces rocked the red carpet too!

How cool is this guy? He greeted all the guests with a bowl filled with candy.

The place was completely packed when we got there, so the decor is pretty impossible to spot.

My nieces each picked out a favorite outfit from the collection!
Since the decor was impossible to see (and not very blog worthy), we did some people spotting:

Some seriously cool looking fashion bloggers

Another fashion blogger, Maria from Vanilla Scented. (she’s good, visit hr blog for some chic street fashion)

I have no idea who this guy was, but his makeup was AMAZING!!

The Oslonights photographer

This cute girl was working at the register, and she was wearing Amalie’s favorite dress!

The woman with the dreadlocks is a popular TV presenter at the national children’s channel.

And the genious herself, Fam Irvoll!

I’ll leave you with some more candy for tonight ;)
Have a fabulous HALLOWEEN!!

Affordable Luxury: Lingerie by Ewa Larsson and meet our New Fashion and Beauty Editor, Ida!
Meet the designer, Ewa Larsson. She’s previously worked for well known fashion houses like Acne, Plein Sud and Tara Jarmon.
“my inspiration was eighteenth century Europe which at the time was heavily influenced by Rococco and chinoiserie” - Ewa
My favorite. The high waisted panty looks incredibly chic and very fashion forward. The different bra’s in the collection also looked very form fitting.
Ewa and I are eagerly discussing my favorite item from the collection. She’s really thought of comfort, and when you touch and feel the pieces, you really just want to put them on!
Ewa worked a LOT on finding good lace farics, and you can definitely tell! Above, she combined three different types of lace, which makes a modern and updated look.
She didn’t forget about loungewear! I would SO prefer over my hooded jerseys!
Another favorite, the kimono over equally chic harem pants. The kimono is made of a single sheet of fabric, so no seems in the sides. Feels like silk, but can easily be tossed in the washer.

Lets not forget about the goodie bags! They included the embroidered kimono! Yay! :)
Ida and I ended up by the canapés. (of course, we always do!)
Ida is showing off one of the necklaces Ewa designed for Lindex.
And this, is Ida! Ida is our new Fashion and Beauty Editor! She’s chic and fabulous, and you’ll get to hang with her every Friday. Ida will be writing about DIY’s, her favorite finds, testing beauty products and much much more. :)
Her first post is out next Friday.
Have a great weekend!!
PS: Did you like Ewa's collection? The collection will be online and in shops from week 49.
What’s to Come Later Today AND Some Pretty Exciting News!
This week has been one of the busiest I think I’ve ever had! Yesterday topped it with two sick babies, a photoshoot, a press launch and an opening party. We managed to work it all out though, and I have a lot of pictures to show you what went down. My little no 2 is still sick, so we’re going to see a doctor in about an hour. So I’m going to leave you with a little preview of what’s to come…
Fam Irvoll launched her collection for WOW, and needless to say, it was FUN! :) I brought my tween nieces, and they were great models for the evening (we even took some great shots of them at the red carpet)
Come back for more later today! :)
Oh, and the exciting news! Don’t have any more time right now, but will let you know what it is in the Lindex post!

Chic or Shit Thursday: Bambi as a Decor Element
We all love Bambi in Bambi, the movie. But what do you feel about him as part of the decor? It’s been a huge trend here in Scandinavia, and some people LOVE it, other don’t.
What do you think? Amazingly cute? Belongs in a nursery? Leave Bambi on the ice? Or do you want to take him home??

From the Blogroll: Polkadot
From the Blogroll is finally back from a little hiatus. In this series we’re introducing you to the homes of the fabulous guys and gals behind the über chic blogs on our blog roll. (left)
Polkadot is a pretty new favorite of mine. It’s fresh, colorful and full of an industry insider’s work and thoughts. For all of you that DON’T read Norwegian, I recommend you to use translate.google.com. (definitely worth the extra effort!)
Blogs about: Things I like ;-) Interiors, fashion, movies, garden – Life!
<Who knew red, yellow and green would look this good? The brass tray brings the room to perfection>
SC: Describe your style in four words!
CH: Colorful, playful, recycling/upcycling and quality
<A close up of the tray. Christine, if you ever get sick of it, you know where to send it! The clay pots makes an interesting contrast to the brass>
SC: What’s your favorite store?
CH: Right now it’s Dover Street Market in London – and Few and Far!
(AND Merci and Rossana Orlandi – but I haven’t been there yet… ;))
(AND Merci and Rossana Orlandi – but I haven’t been there yet… ;))
<The louis chair, paired with a gorilla, brass candle sticks and a traditinoal Swedish lamp shade really makes this vignette interesting> CH: Hmm.. Maybe our white teapot.. Or the coffee machine!
<Christine loves her books, and they’re color coordinated (of course)>
SC: How do you incorporate Scandinavian design in your home and/or wardrobe?
CH: We’ve inherited and bought quite a lot of Danish design. Other than that we have the Tripp Trapp, silver, porcelain, bed linens and tumblers from Norway. I don’t buy Scandinavian because it’s Scandinavian, but because I appreciate the shapes, forms and quality.
<I’m LOVING how this bookshelf is styled, and it makes me wonder if I have that many red books?? The disco balls and colorful chairs makes this nook something I want sink into and start plowing through all the chic books>
SC: What’s your latest purchase?
CH: A beautiful basket from Africa – bought at Isandi.
<Wine balloons, come to mama! And I know I’ve already mentioned that table before. This one is NOT from Nordal, but you can find a strikingly simnilar one there. Tres chic!!>
SC: What’s your favorite Scandinavian Design Classic?
CH: Børge Mogensen’s Spanish Chair!!! I really really really want it! It has to be in a natural leather and untreated oak.

SC: Favorite Scandinavian Magazines?
CH: Hehe…

<The jielde light fixture definitely honors the room>
SC: Best décor / style / beauty advise?
CH:
Remember that high quality pieces can be bought second hand
Green plants – lots of them!!
Cats – makes everything and everyone beautiful :)

Tea on a Tuesday
You might have noticed that Carina is missing today? She’s on a three week vacation in southern France, relaxing with her hubby and two young daughters. I on the other hand, am working! Today we had the second shoot for the Cupcake Challenge and it was FUN! My girl Hviit was here, and she has some serious skills with the camera! We’ve been playing around all day, having a LOT of fun and taking some serious kick ass pictures, I’m crossing my fingers you like the new season of the Cupcake Challenge as much as I do!
I’m also taking the opportunity to debut a new series here, and you know it had to be about TEA! I have to have at least three cups of tea every day, and I do get a lot of questions on what kind of tea I drink etc etc. After the green tea course I took a couple of weeks ago, tea is not just tea anymore. It’s like wine, only BETTER! :) I probably have enough tea for a small village, and I’m going to share my faves with you:
Today I’m drinking Thé du Hammam from Le Palais des Thés. It’s inspired by a Turkish blend, with green tea and fruits. The fragrance is ridiculous, I seriously want to “eat” the scent (I KNOW that’s not possible, but it’s how it feels, smells SOOO good! Almost a little bit peachy)

You can see the dry tea in the background, and the wet tea in front. It’s very green and looks incredibly fresh. With Chinese green tea, the greener the leaves are, the higher the quality.

The taste is much milder than the smell, and really brings out the yummy flavor of the green tea leaves, with hints of red fruits and orange flower water. You know I like pretty things, and I’m drinking my tea from an Elinno “Morning Flirt” tea cup (which will soon be available online on Mandarin Chic).

I’m trying to catch up on my reading these days, I have a bunch of House Beautiful magazines I need to plow through. Crackers + tea are always a good mix, these are made with spelt flour instead of wheat. (which I don’t eat)
Have a fabulous evening, I’m jetting out later tonight for a fun night with the girls, watching TV, gossiping and yes, drinking MORE tea!!
