SC in New York - here´s my new job!

We´ve got jobs last week - and started as servers for restaurant Smörgås. A chic Scandinavian chain of restaurants scattered around the trendiest areas of NYC - West Village (where I work), Park avenue (where my husband works) and the Financial District.

The restaurants are famous for it´s Scandinavian cuisine and also the interior - designed by Norwegian Morten Sohlberg who´s the owner and chef. He took the light blue Ramlösa-bottles (which is Swedish sparkling water) and turned them into lamps, which graces all of his restaurant. Also knives and forks are used as accessories for a few lamps. The light yellow is a trademark color and with the romantic windowsills it makes me think of home. My hubby work at Scandinavia House, which has a huge tree right in the middle of the dining area. Quite cool and very touch of Norway. I just love "my" restaurant in West Village, it´s very cool with lots of famous guest and a great crew from all over Europe and Latin-America working there.

Let´s not forget about the food, it´s absolutely delicious! Sooo Norwegian with a few signature dishes from Sweden and Denmark as well. Everything is more or less organic, grown at their ecological Blenheim farm upstate. If you crave salmon, gravlaks or meatballs this is defiantly the place to go. On the weekends the serve up a sexy brunch with fun and fancy cocktails - a must!

It´s been years since I worked as a server, but hopefully I´ll get into it quickly and it´s a lot of fun. You´re more than welcome to come visit me there for some great food and a glass of wine in the sun!
