SC IN NYC: A bar with a view

Rooftops are the place to be when summer´s heating up. One of the most famous rooftops in New York is 230 Fifth Avenue - right smack in the middle of the city - with a great view. It´s suppose to be the largest rooftop bar in the city and it really is huge with a nice summerly feel to it. They have palm trees, don´t get much more beachy than that!

And not just a great view - cocktails here is a must and they´re good! Grab a seat when the sun starts to set and you´ll get an amazing start to a great night out:)

Outfit Insiration for the Holidays..

VACCACIONÉ!

Today is my last day of work, before four weeeks of this:

and a little bit of this:

Have some major projects going on, and hopefully, I'll get some of them done within the next four weeks.. Yay!

I'm going to be COMPLETELY offline during the vacay, so no internet, no e-mail, no nothing. Feels completely strange, and I don't think I've been offline for this long since like 1995.

And this is my LAST POST before summer!

See you all in four weeks, and I hope you'll have an amazing summer!

Days Filled With Photoshoots

Things are really busy these days, with the summer holidays approaching in a rapid speed, two more days to go, before four weeks filled with relaxation, sun, beaches and family time. :)

I've got a huge deadline August 1st, so I'm working full speed to try to finish everything (with good help from some amazing stylists and photographers).

On Monday, we visited the home of one of Fargerike's talented interior advisors. Here's a little sneak peak of what her home looked like:

SC IN NYC: The world´s most famous cupcakes? Yes!

Yes, of course I would say that Magnolia Bakery cooks up the very best cupcakes in the city and it´s right next to where I work. A little unfortunate as I happen to love sweet stuff…

The bakery opened up shop on Bleecker Street in 1996, and a few came up around Manhattan. But this charming little corner shop is the first one. After it was featured in “Sex and the city” a few years back (who can forget Carrie and Miranda stuffing their faces with the super-tasty cupcakes?!)the fame exploded and soon the cozy little bakery in the West Village even became a stop on the SATC-tour. (I took the tour with my best friend Hilde two years ago – FUN!!).

A rainy Saturday a couple of weeks back I visited again, just realizing that it´s a two tiny blocks from my work. Nice! I had to have a little cupcake and just enjoy the vibe from the bakery. It´s almost always packed with people munching on all their good stuff. The have great cakes as well…

I had to write a little tribute to the bakery as only fair since they started the cupcake-mania that’s been going on ever since. And thank God for that!

Lo / NY Recap!!

Aloha! I've been MIA for the past few weeks because of a pretty huge workload. Last week I went to London AND New York, and I truly had an amazing time. I got inspiration overload, and is bursting with ideas! :D It's embarrassing that I forgot to take pictures in London, it really was truly inspirational (as always ;))

I had to stop by Kate Spade, and of course, she didn't disappoint. Great displays and as always, super inspiring color palettes!

A total nod towards Hollywood Regency! Am head over heels with the gold! (you know I'm a sucker for bling ;))

I met up with Camilla, who's living the dream in NYC and also blogs HERE every Monday! She's a total sweetheart, and we had a very short but incredibly fun lunch together!

I also met up with my LA (turned NY) BFF Ashlina from the fabulous blog the Decorista. This is the first time we met, and it was truly FUN and inspirational!

We had a lot of fun, dishing about everything from interior designs to colors to fashion. (she has some SUPER exciting plans up her sleeve, and I'm SO excited to what comes out of it!! (Have SUPER high expectations!!!))

My only regret, is that I didn't have more time to hang out, and just relax. I missed out on meeting my old neighbor, up and coming super model to be Rahma M (her portfolio is AMAZING!!) I needed at least another week! Oh well, I'm planning on persuading the hubby to take me to NY again this fall, :D

SC in NYC: I met the Crown Princess and our own SC-princess!

Last week was busy with tons of work – and a couple of interviews with the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

(Mette-Marit on her way into Hilton Hotel on Manhattan).

She´s a special ambassador for UNs program UNAIDs, working especially towards young women and men throughout the world with the struggles due to a brutal diagnoses. Her work is of course important and I wrote a few articles on the issues (so cool to visit the UN by the way!!), but for us a lot of Scandinavian love to look at her style as well. She was summer with a capital s during her visit to NYC – lots of whites and marines, but what I absolutely loved was her sea-green bag and her gorgeous manicure (hot coral!). I didn’t only meet a future queen, but also my dear friend and clever Scandinavian chic-developer, Dagny. And she looks SO smashing in her striped white dress with lovely high heels and a J. Crew-necklace (this girl is all about coral as well! Yeah!). Just take a look at the pic I snapped in SoHo where we met up for tea.

SC in NYC: A cute flea market-find

A Saturday morning off for me often means checking out the local flea markets – and some of the best ones are right here in Brooklyn.

I stopped by at Lafayette St. which was crowded with lots of food stands selling tasty soul food and of course a whole lot of stands selling everything from homemade soaps and dresses to great vintage finds. I found myself a beautiful old Coach purse with a strap.

Of course in my favorite color – 70s light brown.

I think it´s so cute!

Antonette Jerrick is the gorgeous woman behind the vintage bags and she also makes her own – out of alligators and snakeskins (all fair-trade and she works with locals in Guyana). She´s such a cool lady and had so much great stuff!

Lo/NY, here I come!

Next week, I'm going to be visiting both London and New York, and it's an understatement to say I'm excited!!

While in London, I'll be meeting up with some blogging buddies, as well as doing some serious damage on the credit card! :D Shopping tips are always welcome! Especially quirky, cute and colorful interior design shops.

In New York, more shopping and blogging bff's. Super DUPER excited!!
